PICO2000® Installation Instructions

Before installing any PICO2000® software:

  • Make sure the capture cards and cameras are currently connected to the PC. The capture cards
should be securely seated in the PCI slots and stabilized. The cameras should be properly wired.

If you are not sure how to setup the capture card or camera hardware please contact your
hardware supplier or a qualified technician.

  • Make sure that your computer meets the minimum system requirements for PICO2000®.

  • IMPORTANT First uninstall any other surveillance software associated with the capture cards. This includes any previous versions of PICO. Go the Add/Remove programs in Windows Control Panel. After removing reboot the computer.

About Registration

Registration is a simple process that you must complete within 30 days of installing the FREE Trial software.

Registration removes the Trial overlay, allowing you to continue using the software, and it helps to prevent casual copying of the software onto more computers than the license agreement allows. See our Registration page for more information.

Installing PICO2000® ORS 1.0.0 Server Software

  1. Download the 4, 8 or 16 camera Trial Version of the software from the download page
  2. Exit all Windows applications and run the installer. Click Next

  3. Read the PICO2000® End User agreement. If you agree to these terms check I agree and click Next

  4. The next screen allows you to choose which codec will be used for recording.

The Indeo5 codec provides better quality images but creates larger file sizes (roughly 7-20KB per frame).

The MPEG4 codec produces smaller file sizes (roughly 4-5KB per frame) with less detailed images
    .

  5. Choose the camera resolution. NTSC is the standard resolution for North America. Check your camera documentation if you are unsure.

  6. NTSC cameras are best displayed at a screen resolution of 800x600. PAL cameras are best displayed at a screen resolution of 1024x768. Depending on your resolution selection, you may see the message below asking you to adjust your screen resolution accordingly.

  7. Now that you have made all your selections, the PICO2000® is ready to install. Click Install to proceed or Back to change your selections.

  8. If the installation is successful, you will see the screen below and may be asked to reboot your computer.
