Why CCD Cameras?

CCD and CMOS imagers were both invented in the late 1960s and 1970s (DALSA founder and CEO Dr. Savvas Chamberlain was a pioneer in developing both technologies). CCD became the preferred and dominant technology, primarily because it gave far superior images with fabrication technology economically available. CMOS image sensors required more uniformity and smaller features.

Most of the cameras that are sold on eBay are CMOS cameras. CCD Cameras are usually twice the price and the pictures are up to 10 times clearer, brighter and more colorful.

Varifocal Adjustment of Field of Vision

The Varifocal Lens will allow you to manually adjust between a 3.5mm and an 8mm lens setting during installation.

The higher the lens is set at, the narrower the field of vision, and the more zoom effect there is. Subjects will appear closer and you will have more detail.

The lower the lens is set at, the wider the field of vision, therefore the greater the area will be seen and the subjects you are viewing appear farther away.

Having a Varifocal lens allows you to fine tune this angle in just a few seconds, at the time the camera is installed and mounted.

What Does Lens Focal Length Mean?

The Focal Length determines the field of vision. The smaller the focal length, the wider the field of vision.

Take a look at the images below. Look how the church seems to zoom in as the size of the lens is changed.

The camera is the same distance from the church in each photo.

By manually adjusting the lens at the back of the camera, a person can zoom in on the subject. Notice the sides of the street show less and less the more the camera zooms.

The principle is to "adjust for the greatest amount of zoom effect, and therefore the most detail, and still cover the width of the field of vision desired."

         Zoom and focus adjustments

After the camera was installed, the zoom and focus of the lens must be adjusted.

1. Loosen the zoom ring knob, and then turn the ring towards as necessary to obtain the desired view range.

 (Zoom out) The viewing range will be wider and the subject is smaller.

(Zoom in) The viewing range will be smaller and the subject is larger.

2. Loosen the focus ring knob, then turn the ring towards as necessary to obtain the clear video image.

3.  Once the lens setting finished, tighten the zoom ring and the focus ring knobs.

All of our auctions include a handling charge. That is why we refer to "shipping and handling". We use the handling charge to cover our shipping department costs, both labor and packaging materials, boxes, tape, filler and labels, as well as fuel surcharge charges.

Delivery and Shipping Locations
We ship from several different locations. We have warehousing in Long Island, Ohio, California, in Hong Kong, our shop in Saskatchewan, Canada and we have a factory in China. We ship from all  locations.

This camera is sent to you by UPS direct from our warehouse in New York State. Very occasionally we are temporarily out of stock.

We ship in 1-4 days from receipt of your order and payment. It should be delivered within 4-9 days after that..

Insurance
All shipments MUST be insured. This policy prevents disappointment. Our insurance includes the cost of the outgoing shipping cost of the item, so you are FULLY covered.

You are protected, for not only the value of the item, but also for the shipping cost that you have paid to have the item shipped to you. 

If the item is lost or damaged in transit, we handle all of the claim work from our end. All Freight Claims must be settled with Freight Carrier before issuing refunds. 

Canadian Buyers and Taxes
All Canadian Sales are subject to GST tax. PayPal will automatically calculate the GST in most cases, adding it to your payment. Please be careful that you do not add it twice.

You must email us for a Return Authorization Number.
