This is a great new small-sized armor dome camera. It features a 1/3" Sony Color Super HAD CCD sensor that renders 420 lines of resolution. It is mounted inside a tamper resistant armor housing measuring only 4.25" in diameter.

Why a Dome Camera? An important advantage of a Dome camera is that a person can not easily see where the camera is pointing...so they do not easily know if they are being watched or not. A box camera will give away the line of sight.. You can mount a Dome on any surface. Typically it is mounted on the ceiling, but it can just as easily go on a wall, a support pillar, or even on a door. Only your imagination will limit your installation.

Why a CCD Camera? CCD and CMOS imagers were both invented in the late 1960s and 1970s (DALSA founder and CEO Dr. Savvas Chamberlain was a pioneer in developing both technologies). CCD became the preferred and dominant technology, primarily because it gave far superior imaging results. Most of the cameras that are sold on eBay are CMOS cameras. CCD Cameras are usually twice the price and the pictures are up to 10 times clearer, brighter and more colorful.

Night Viewing No IR's for Night Vision, but the image sensor, being Sony is high quality and will work well in very low light conditions. The Lux rating is .5 which translates to the ability to see even though the light is 1/2 of a candle.
